?min 2.25 Miles

Ran through the mall zone to check it out before the demolition begins. Pretty rocky trails, good for motor bikes I suppose. Connected my path to the whiter road development, and realized there's a couple houses over there right up against the mall land.

Ran with iPod, with new "smart playlist" stuff I'm trying out. Most songs were good, but I guess I just am not in the mood to run to classical some times.

?min 2.4 miles

Neighborhood loop. Tried to get Chris to go but he wouldn't budge. Shin split type pain on left leg, didn't hurt much running, but walking after.

?min 3 miles

Spent the night at the in-laws, and brought my running shoes so I did a few miles this morning. I mapped the course on google earth, but I didn't check the elevation and it was ALL up hill and I didn't last as long as I though. Turned around at the 1.5 mile mark. A good run though, been a week since I've been out and I was hankering for some miles. No iPod, but the first time I've run in shorts this year.

18min 2.2miles

No iPod, outside, neighborhood mile loop * 2, trying a little speed stuff. Nothing major, but more than a comfy jog. No pain anywhere really. I could feel my breathing a little more than usual around the 1.5 mile mark, but it didn't last long.

Felt good to just be pushing the limit of everything and not worrying about one particular thing or another.

Was ready for another mile at the end, but I gotta get my butt to work.

62min 6.1miles

This was fun, I took off with no idea what I was gonna do, and decided to try to explore the trails on the Horse Hill Nature preserve. I found a trail in, then lost it, ended up at an archry target area, then a power line... then deep into the woods on an awsome birch glade trail... then lost the trail and was zipping through untracked trees which reminded me big time of skiing in trees, just looking for a way through going real fast... my favorite part of the run. Then I got totally lost and ran into two guys who said the trail I was on didn't go anywere, and said I could cut through their yard to get back onto Amherst st. This was on the wrong side of the park so I ran back around it. Going under some powerlines I knew went to my neighborhood I decided to follow them instead of the road. Was great for a mile or so then I hit a big 5 acre lake blocking the path and had to try to get around it. Ended up back on a road and followed it home.

A little bit of back tracking, and a couple really steep spots I had to scramble down or up, so the pace looks slow on paper, but I was moving pretty good most of the time.

I'd say I went longer than I'd planned, but I didn't have a plan, but I can say that's the furthest I've run since... well, since I can't remember, probably 15 years or so.

Bike: ?Min 6miles round trip

The car is in the shop for a few days (new turbo - $ouch$) so I'm biking to work. It's a 3 mile ride, and the cold has made it so I don't even break a sweat. Very nice.

25min 2.7miles

New ipod armband in action - listening to Twit podcast, and it was a triumph. Was able to adjust volumn, pause/start with ease. Wasn't sure if I liked the headphone cable in front or behind though. Best was in front with a couple inches tucked into the band I guess.

Heard about a kewl road race, the Redhook 5k, where you get a tShirt and a beer at the end... but that's the same day as the BTV Marathon I'm doing with a team of 5.

?min 2.8miles

Did the first Mile with Lego Dog. Dropped her off and did another 1.8 around the newer neighborhood around the corner. It was cold out, but with a hat and light gloves I felt fine. I much prefer too hot than too cold.
