21min 2.5mi

Had to get something from the store, so I ran there with the new water backpack. It worked great. First nite time run in a while. Felt okay. Right thigh deep pain type thing. Tight calves afterwards. Maybe I need a rest.

18min 2.2mi

Only needed a day of rest after the 5.6mi race, and even though it's like 80deg no wind I felt great. First "practice" with the watch and I kinda forgot I had it, I need to mark the mile markers on my route so I can tell my pace. I also forgot that I wanted to test the water carrying backpack thing I got. Maybe I'll wear it as I mow the lawn.

47min 5.6mi BTV Marathon

Ran the last leg of the Burlington Marathon with 4 other runners. A really fun race. I felt bad passing all the people on there 25th mile while I was on my 3rd. The finish line was amazing, all the people cheering, lots of kids giving high fives... a good day was had by all.

?min 3.3mi

Three loops around the neighborhood in the new shoes. Slight twinge in right thigh, otherwise fine. iPod battery dead so no toons, and I found myself singing "We are the champions" over and over.

19min 2.2miles

New Shoes! I know - a week before a race isn't the right time, but I'm getting sick of the calf pain. Woke up with a lot of calf pain. Bought a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 9, size 11. Pain $80 for them, which I thought was a lot. All the shoes were like $80+, and I found them on eBay just now for $65 + $11 shipping, so I don't feel too bad. The people at the shoe store were a big help, and I got to try on 4 pairs of shoes and took each for a quick 100yrd run. Got home and had to run them, so put a couple miles on them, and I feel fine. A twinge around the middle of the run that went away after like 30 strides.

?min 4.7mi

4 laps around the neighborhood. I opened/closed the mailbox on each lap so I wouldn't loose count. Right calf slight pain after 2 miles which went away pretty quick. Other than that it was pain free. Powered the big hill a couple times superman style.

?min 1.2 miles

Rain again, not feeling the mojo, and my left knee had a little pain after just 1/2 miles so I cut this one short. Just read about "runner's knee" last night too - so maybe I'm being hypchondriatical (is that a word?)

?min 4.62 Miles

Miserable downpouring rain, and me without a rain coat. I did have my sister with me though, so the conversation made the miles fly by. Chose not to do the wooded path part of the loop cause of mud and upcoming race. Came home and weighted myself before and after taking off the rain drenched clothes and there was a 6 pound difference.

41min 4.62miles

Went on a run with a new friend named Bill. Met him on the town's highly political forum. It was great having someone to talk to the whole time, and we did it at pretty much the exact same pace I normally do this run at, and Bill had a watch to time it. Bill planted a seed, "Toronto Marathon, September, Red Sox are in town" which has begun to grow.

?min 5.47miles

A great run - Mixed up the neighborhood route, no pain, no stress. Hadn't done more than a mile or so in a week or so (with a tuckerman trip mixed in) - so I was jonsen for a run when I started, and totally felt an "Ah, finally running again" kinda thing. Coming around the last corner to home on each lap I had a "This is great, I could go another..." feeling too.
