Calf issues seem gone, but not pushing my luck. A quick warm-up type run to get some miles in this week and get back on the program this weekend with a long run.

87min 8.8mi

Set out for a 13mile run, but at mile 8 the calf pain was really bad. The following morning my left calf felt about as bad as it ever has. I could still walk fun, and could probably have run, but I was getting a sort of "clicking" like a cracked knuckle or something. So I'm gonna rest it a bit.

Calf Pain

Latest on calf pains: I think I've finally got some usefull feedback - was out for the 13miler on sunday and developed calf pain (tighness) around 10miles so I quit, thinking I was in for another week of calf twiches and stuff.  Last month after long runs, the following morning, I dreaded the first walk down stairs as I got that "twinge."

Well, after the 10miler I have some overall leg acheyness but no calf twinges.  I think this is a breakthrough for me.  Gotta get in these shorter runs mid week, major slacking on them, but now that I feel better abotu the calf I'm happy about the midweeks.

104min 9.9mi

Was planning on 12 laps around the neighborhood, but some calf pain convinced me to stop. It's hard to make the stop decision while running - but I did. The recovery from the last calf injury was about 3 weeks, and I can't afford that. I think being a couple mile behind in a long run isn't as bad as missing 3 full weeks. The calf pain is a tighness in both calfs this time - previously it was one calf, and then later the other. I guess I am now balanced in my deficienes.

Still feeling VERY confident I will be ready by race day.

And other good news: I might have a sponser for Boston 2007.
