62min 6.1miles

This was fun, I took off with no idea what I was gonna do, and decided to try to explore the trails on the Horse Hill Nature preserve. I found a trail in, then lost it, ended up at an archry target area, then a power line... then deep into the woods on an awsome birch glade trail... then lost the trail and was zipping through untracked trees which reminded me big time of skiing in trees, just looking for a way through going real fast... my favorite part of the run. Then I got totally lost and ran into two guys who said the trail I was on didn't go anywere, and said I could cut through their yard to get back onto Amherst st. This was on the wrong side of the park so I ran back around it. Going under some powerlines I knew went to my neighborhood I decided to follow them instead of the road. Was great for a mile or so then I hit a big 5 acre lake blocking the path and had to try to get around it. Ended up back on a road and followed it home.

A little bit of back tracking, and a couple really steep spots I had to scramble down or up, so the pace looks slow on paper, but I was moving pretty good most of the time.

I'd say I went longer than I'd planned, but I didn't have a plan, but I can say that's the furthest I've run since... well, since I can't remember, probably 15 years or so.
