Publishable Google Doc!

The gods of google have made it easy for me to share the spreadsheets I've been using to track my progress (or lack there of).

M@'s Running Logs : There's the link!  Click it and see how my current running is going, how it all fell apart a couple months ago, what kinda pace I migth be doing the marathon in, and anything else I feel I need to calculate.

Lake Loop

It's been a while since I went around the lake.  It was pretty painfull at first.  I think I slowed down about 1/2 way so my overall pace was just about 10min/mile.  Was good to get a medium distance run in though.  Got the calfs on ice now.  (Did some 2mile runs last week too - not blogging every run)

Short runs and Calf Exersizes

Been doing short 2mile runs around the block, with no pain and pushing the 8min mile barrier.  Also been doing a lot of calf exersizing - but still not enough.  Doing 10 lift reps, 2 reps on both feet, then 2 reps on each foot.  I think I'm starting to feel less pain/stretch during these exersizes.

4mi

Needed some parts from Radio Shack for the top secret project, so I ran there to get them.  Was good to think about the project on the way.  I am keeping track of runs/times in a google spreadsheet.  Perhaps I should provide a link to that somehow...  Raises the question of how to keep track of that and this blog as well as a couple other blogs I have on other topics.  This isn't the place for that discussion.

Signed up for BTV 2006

I signed up (spent $70) for the BTV 2006 Marathon.  My sister Alison also signed up.  My wife is running it with a team or 5.  Training starts in Janurary.  Gonna keep up with an easy-type running schedule to get the calfs strong.

Therapist

Got myself to a therapist this week and she diagnosed me as having "girly calfs."  (That's what Dave at work called them, not her)  Essentially my calf muscles aren't strong enough, and it's causing major tightness.  She gave me a few exersizes to do and confirmed that I have the right shoes and they are holding up well.  She also recommended an insert for even more support, and confirmed my desire to get new ski boots.  I ran a couple miles last week, and I'm not sure if I'll keep track of every single run going forward - I'd like to have a record, and I'm all about using technology for everything, but I want a spreadsheet or database so I can investigate pace and progress.  There's some websites that do this, and a wrist worn GPS that helps... so be looking for that in the future.

I told Suzy I'd be an alternate for her BTV 2007 Marathon Team, as well as maybe signing up to do the whole thing.  The registration is at the end of this month.

OVER

Just went out for the long run - and after 4 miles my right calf was really starting to twinge with pain. Easy pace too - with lots of rest before hand. I dunno why, but my calfs have prevented me from being ready for the marathon in 3 weeks. I'll try finding a doctor type sports person to maybe help, but I'm betting part of the treatment is gonna be no running.

IN a word - FUCK.
